Please note:

From December 12th 2010 wide band interference has been experienced here across the entire weather satellite band (137Mhz) causing the loss of satellite images. I am currently working to find the source of the problem and provide a remedy.

Whilst the interference is not constant, either in signal strength or duration, it is strong enough to prevent the R2ZX receiver from scanning. With effect from January 2011, I have placed the R2ZX under computer control, which allows the WXtoIMG software to automatically select the correct satellite frequency during a pass. Decoding will commence once the satellite carrier frequency is detected. 

As a  result, some satellite passes are missed, some produce poor quality images, others are severely cropped. Uploads have been reinstated in order progress can be monitored.

Update - 23rd Jan 2011. Changes have been made to the antenna, and its alignment, which have resulted in improved imaging. Full details can be found on the 'Station Status' page, which can be viewed by  following the link from the main site index page.
